A Skeleton I Made From Skeletons I Found

Part fish, part bird, part rabbit, sleek and many-eyed,
bones linked and hinged with smaller, sharper bones—
it’s wanting breath. Pull together. There it is:
it moves.

It stumbles in the dust, clumsy and inept.

I clap my hands and stumble in the dust like dancing.
