Barnett R. Rubin is Distinguished Fellow at the Stimson Center and Non-Resident Senior Fellow at NYU’s Center on International Cooperation. His books include Afghanistan from the Cold War through the War on Terror and Blood on the Doorstep: The Politics of Preventing Violent Conflict. His writing has also appeared in Foreign Affairs, The New Yorker, and the New York Review of Books.
